Prescott band Buffalo Star plays original indie rock, alt-country and Americana on the Skyline Stage at the Arizona State Fair.
Buffalo Star plays the Arizona State Fair on Thursday, October 29, from 4 PM to 5 PM on the Skyline Stage. They're a Prescott band, so this is a bit of a trip down from the highlands into the valley for them. They'll be playing original alternative rock, alt-country, and Americana, and they're the only act on the bill for this particular slot.
Founded in 2018 around Chad Calhoun's songwriting, the band has grown into a four-piece with Calhoun on vocals and guitar, Chris Bennett on guitar, Cole Lysons on bass, and Harlan Mark Vale on drums. They've spent the last few years playing across Arizona, including the Thunder Valley Rally in Cottonwood, so they're no strangers to the state's fair and festival circuit.
Their most recent record is Back Roads, which they released in 2024 through Blue Theory Records. It's thirteen tracks running forty-eight minutes, and they'll be drawing from that material for the set. If you're not familiar with them, that's the best place to start—it's a full-length album that gives a good sense of where they're at right now.
