Electronic music duo Boy Harsher performs live at The Van Buren in Phoenix, with support from True Blue and Kassie Krut.
Boy Harsher play The Van Buren on Wednesday, October 21, with True Blue and Kassie Krut opening. It's a mid-week show, and the bill puts the duo alongside two other acts, so the night starts well before the headliner takes the stage.
If you're not familiar with them, Boy Harsher is an American electronic group formed in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia, and now based in Northampton, Massachusetts. The duo consists of vocalist Jae Matthews and producer Augustus Muller. They work across a wide range of electronic styles—dance and electro-pop, goth, industrial, cold wave, dark wave, and minimal synth. That's a lot of ground to cover, but it's a good way to describe the sound: danceable beats with a dark, cold-wave edge, and Matthews' vocals sitting right in the middle of it.

True Blue and Kassie Krut are the openers, so the night will be a full run of electronic music rather than just a single set. The whole thing is at The Van Buren, 401 W Van Buren St in downtown Phoenix. The show starts at 8 PM on Wednesday, October 21.
