The gospel legends perform Christmas classics from their holiday albums in the MIM Music Theater.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are bringing their Christmas show to the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix on Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28, 2026. Both nights start at 7:30 PM in the MIM Music Theater.
The set pulls from Christmas classics and the group's own holiday albums, Go Tell It on the Mountain and Talkin' Christmas. It's a gospel-focused program, and they're known for the kind of vocal harmonies that have defined their sound for decades. Country Weekly called the show "both musically and spiritually inspiring," and the Seattle Times described it as "an evening of music that will revitalize your soul."
If you aren't familiar with them, the Blind Boys of Alabama are gospel legends with a career spanning more than 70 years. They first rose to fame in the segregated South, releasing their debut single "I Can See Everybody's Mother But Mine" on the Veejay label in 1948. Since then, they've earned six Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, a National Endowment for the Arts lifetime achievement honor, and induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

They've spent a lot of their career crossing musical boundaries, pairing traditional gospel favorites with contemporary spiritual material by songwriters like Eric Clapton, Prince, and Tom Waits. That openness extends to who they work with, too: they've collaborated with artists as different as Mavis Staples, Stevie Wonder, and Lou Reed. This holiday show stays closer to the gospel tradition, though, drawing on the classics and their two Christmas records.
Tickets run from $69.50 to $85.50, and MIM members who give $500 or more annually get 10% off. Both shows are at 7:30 PM at the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E Mayo Blvd, Phoenix.
