Stand-up show by Arnez J, billed as the 'King of Physical Comedy', with shows on October 30 and 31 and November 1.
Arnez J is playing Stand Up Live in Phoenix for a three-night run starting Friday, October 30. He's a high-energy comic known for physical storytelling—the kind of set where he's moving around the stage as much as he's talking. He's been called the 'King of Physical Comedy' and 'the black Jerry Lewis,' and the comparison to Jim Carrey's physicality is one that comes up often.
His path to the stage is a bit of a story in itself. He started as a flight attendant, and when the passengers and crew kept laughing at his bits, he realized comedy was where he belonged. He actually turned down a pro baseball career to pursue it. From there, he hosted BET's Comic View for two seasons, putting him in the same orbit as D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer. His TV credits run long, too: The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show, Louie Anderson's Comedy Showcase, Comedy Central's Make Me Laugh, NBC's Friday Night Videos, The Mo'Nique Show, and Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam. He also had his own Comic View Grandstand Hour special and a Comedy Central Presents: Arnez J.
More recently, he headlined Showtime's Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam. In April 2025, he released Not Gonna Stop, his first special in ten years, which pulled in over a million YouTube views in ten days and over four million since.
