Built in 1786 by Henry Hill, a wealthy Madeira wine importer, the Hill-Physick House is the only free-standing Federal-style house in Philadelphia. It is located in the Society Hill neighborhood and was later the home of Dr. Philip Syng Physick. The house is richly furnished in the Empire and Federal styles and includes medical and surgical tools used by Dr. Physick. It is also available for rent for events.
