Annual Halloween fundraiser at the Hill-Physick House where guests dress as 1776 or 1976 and compete in a costume walk-off to crown a winning era.
PhilaLandmarks is bringing back its annual Halloween fundraiser to the Hill-Physick House on Thursday, October 29, from 6 PM to 9 PM. This year's theme is Battle of the Eras: 1776 vs. 1976, an adult-oriented historic Halloween experience in Society Hill that frames the whole night around America's 250th birthday.
The premise is simple: you pick a side. One is the waistcoats, gowns, and powdered formality of 1776, the year independence was proclaimed. The other is the funky rhythms and leisurewear of 1976's disco era. The night builds toward a grand costume walk-off to crown a winning era, so the more you lean into your chosen century, the better.
Inside the historic property, the three hours are filled with music, food, and activities, and each era gets its own signature cocktail. It's a fundraiser, and the proceeds go toward the preservation and activation of PhilaLandmarks' historic properties across the city. If you're looking for a Halloween plan that's more about dressing up and hanging out than a haunted house, this is a good bet.
