A five-piece band led by Justine Michele recreates the deep grooves and late-night soul of Sade in an intimate venue.
Your Love Is King plays Nostalgia Fishtown on Sunday, October 18, starting at 2 PM. It's a five-piece band devoted to the sound of Sade, fronted by Philadelphia's own Justine Michele, a seasoned performer whose voice honors Sade Adu's smoky restraint and effortless style rather than imitating it. The group recreates the deep grooves, warm bass, and late-night atmosphere of Diamond Life, Promise, and Love Deluxe and beyond, delivering the hits 'Smooth Operator', 'The Sweetest Taboo', 'No Ordinary Love', and 'Your Love Is King' alongside deeper album cuts. The band is led by veteran Philly-area musicians and bills the show as a Sunday afternoon that feels like midnight.
Nostalgia Fishtown is an intimate live-music room on Jefferson Street in Fishtown, housed in a residential garage turned creative space and founded by two local musicians and University of the Arts graduates. It now hosts original music across all genres alongside workshops, film screenings, art shows, comedy, and recording. All ages are welcome, and the bar is BYOB for guests 21 and over.
