Jesse Welles, Arkansas rocker formerly of Dead Indian, plays The Met Presented by Highmark on the Red Tour 2026, presented by WXPN.
Jesse Welles plays The Met Presented by Highmark on Friday, October 23, as part of the WXPN Red Tour 2026. He's an Arkansas-based rocker who also records and performs as Jeh Sea Wells, and who fronted the bands Dead Indian and Cosmic American. Hudson Freeman opens the bill.
Welles first emerged in 2012, pairing the fuzzed-out, melody-forward attack of Kurt Cobain with the indie-rock swagger of Kyle Craft and the rock-and-roll pageantry of The Struts. When Dead Indian disbanded in 2015, he rebranded as Welles in 2017 and released the Codeine EP through C3 Records. In 2018, he signed with Atlantic imprint 300 Entertainment and put out his debut full-length, Red Trees and White Trashes.
