Workshops with Pablo & Emily

Pablo & Emily are visiting from France to teach a series of tango workshops at the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School from Saturday, October 17, through Monday, October 19. This is their first time presenting in Philadelphia. They're a renowned couple whose dancing blends tradition and modernity with balance, harmony, fluidity, and creativity. They've spent time in Argentina seeking out the roots of tango and learning from some of its greatest masters, and they've traveled extensively since then. Their teaching focuses on the connection between partners and with the music, and they encourage dancers to explore tango from its most traditional forms to its most inventive and expressive possibilities. Their approach emphasizes body awareness, humility, and a genuine joy in sharing their passion.

The weekend is aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers. Saturday features two workshops, from 2:00 to 3:15 PM and 3:30 to 4:45 PM. Sunday is the longest day, with sessions from 1:00 to 2:15 PM, 2:30 to 3:45 PM, and a laboratory/guided practica from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. That Sunday laboratory is run alongside school teachers Andres and Meredith, who join Pablo and Emily on the floor. Monday evening is dedicated to tango technique from 7:00 to 8:00 PM and partners-only advanced tango from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. Private lessons are available through Meredith.

Pricing is tiered by how much you take: $160 for all four workshops, which includes the laboratory/guided practica; $126 for three; $87 for two; and $50 for a single workshop. The laboratory/guided practica on its own is $25. The workshops run Saturday, October 17, from 2:00 to 4:45 PM; Sunday, October 18, from 1:00 to 6:00 PM; and Monday, October 19, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM, all at the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School.
