West Philly Swingers brings its Halloween-themed swing show 'Swing O' Ween' to the Iron Gate Theatre at the University of Pennsylvania.
West Philly Swingers are taking over the Iron Gate Theatre on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, for Swing O' Ween, a haunted evening of Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing. The group dances through the spooky world of the holiday, combining high-energy dance with Halloween archetypes to stage an epic tribute that brings the mystery and adventure of the genre to life on the dance floor. It's a two-night run, so you can catch it either night or double up.
The show is part of Penn Live Arts, the performing-arts series of the University of Pennsylvania. Their 2026/27 season is titled Belonging, and it looks at how people navigate change and find acceptance in new worlds while longing for the community and traditions of home. The season features world and Philadelphia premieres, artist residencies, and debut performances, alongside engagement initiatives like the Student Discovery series and community-access programs like West Philly Welcome.

Swing O' Ween fits right into that mix. The West Philly Swingers are a local fixture, and this particular production leans into the holiday spirit, with the Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing styles taking center stage. If you're into swing dance, this is a good chance to see it performed in a full show rather than just on a social dance floor. The performances run Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 at the Iron Gate Theatre.
