Yoga-based movement class blending postures, breathwork and mindfulness with pilates, held on Zoom as part of the Philadelphia City Institute's Health and Wellness series.
Michele Tantoco is leading a virtual yoga workshop through the Philadelphia City Institute, and it's more of a series than a one-off. The sessions run on Mondays at 6 PM, with dates on October 5, 19, and 26; November 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30; and December 7 and 14, 2026. Since it's held on Zoom, you can join from wherever you are in the city rather than heading into the center of things.
What Tantoco puts together is a yoga-based movement class that blends postures, breathwork, and mindfulness with pilates. It's a mix of the two—the flow and focus of yoga paired with the core-strengthening work pilates is known for—so it works as both a stretch and a workout. The class is aimed at adults, and the format lets you come back week after week rather than just dropping in once.

The workshop is part of the Health and Wellness series at the Philadelphia City Institute, located at 1905 Locust Street in Philadelphia, and it's sponsored by the Friends of PCI Library. Because it's a virtual program, the physical location is where it's hosted from, but the actual class happens on Zoom. If you want to join, you'll need to email nguyent@freelibrary.org to get the Zoom link. The sessions are on Mondays at 6 PM, running through mid-December.
