The Magicians Table

The Magicians Table is playing at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts from Wednesday, October 21, through Sunday, November 22, 2026. It's a five-week run, so you've got plenty of dates to choose from. The whole thing takes place in the SEI Innovation Studio, located at 300 South Broad St in Philadelphia.

It's an immersive close-up magic experience that comes to us from London, and it's built around a story. The evening is billed as a tribute to Dieter Roterburg, a legendary magician and carnival owner, and it's hosted by his widow, Calliope. The show is staged in Roterburg's own private performance space, where letters and surprises hint at one final trick—the one that eluded him throughout his life and is finally completed here. The night starts in a curated lounge with signature cocktails and sleight-of-hand, and from there you move into the room, seated at semicircular tables of twelve in a speakeasy setting where every seat has a view of the show. Over the course of about two hours, world-class magicians handpicked by Roterburg perform both table-side and on stage, with drinks and music running throughout. It's a mix of close-up magic, live music, handcrafted cocktails, storytelling, and comedy.

Behind the scenes, the production is led by Alison Spiriti and Justin Sudds of Right Angle Entertainment, with a script by Kevin Hammonds and Iain Sharkey and design by Tom Greenwood-Mears. The magicians on stage are a touring group joined by a selection of artists from the Philadelphia region. The run time is approximately two hours with no intermission.

One thing to keep in mind: it's an adults-only show, though select Saturday matinees are open to ages 14 and older. With the run going from October 21 to November 22, you've got five weeks to find a night that works for you.
