Temple and La Salle face off on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia. It's a men's basketball game between two of the city's college programs, and it falls under the Big 5 Classic, the tournament that celebrates the long tradition between Philadelphia's finest college basketball teams.
If the name sounds a bit off, it's because the Classic now gathers six teams rather than five. Drexel University's men's team joined in the 2023-24 season, and this year the tournament splits the field into two pods of three. The first seeds from each pod meet in the championship game, which is held at The Palestra on Penn's campus. The Palestra is widely known as 'the Cathedral of College Basketball' and is one of the most recognizable arenas in the country. It'll mark its 100th anniversary by hosting a tripleheader on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2026. There's another tripleheader scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
