A 21+ show by Philadelphia artist Star Moles (Emily Moales) at Johnny Brenda's on Frankford Avenue.
Star Moles play Johnny Brenda's on Tuesday, January 26, 2027. It's a headlining date for the project, which is the work of Philadelphia's Emily Moales.
Moales is part of the Historic New Jersey Recordings extended family, the same circle that includes Sam and Louise Sullivan and founder Kevin Basko's Rubber Band Gun. Her 2026 album, Highway to Hell, has been described by Pitchfork as "psychedelic-of-center bedroom pop" and by Brooklyn Vegan as balancing "comforting familiarity and exciting newness." Paste named her one of their "Best of What's Next" artists. She also directed a locally shot music video for the bonus track "Born Again," which she filmed with Lucky Marvel.
