Unauthorized parody musical of the Saw horror franchise, fronted by Billy the Puppet, at the Walnut Street Theatre.
SAW The Musical is playing at the Walnut Street Theatre through October 25, with afternoon and evening performances throughout its run. It's an unauthorized parody of the Saw horror franchise, and the production leans hard into that: the tagline they're using is "Think Saw was hilarious? This musical is for you!" and Billy the Puppet, Jigsaw's creepy little messenger, fronts the whole thing.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the Walnut Street Theatre is at 825 Walnut Street in Center City. It's America's oldest theatre and a National Historic Landmark, as well as the Official State Theatre of Pennsylvania. It's a not-for-profit producing company, currently in its 218th season and its 44th as a producer, so it's a place with a lot of history behind it.
