R&B night with Philadelphia artist Rico Anderson and friends at Velvet Whip Arts & Social Club.
Rico Anderson plays Velvet Whip Arts & Social Club on Saturday, October 24, with the show billed as Rico Anderson & Friends. It's an R&B night in Philadelphia, and Anderson is the main feature.
If you haven't caught him yet, Anderson is a Philadelphia R&B artist known for smooth vocals, heartfelt storytelling, and soulful energy. He's rooted in the city's musical spirit and blends classic R&B influences with a modern sound, making music that feels honest, intimate, and emotionally alive. His performances carry both warmth and power, and he's regarded as part of the next wave of Philadelphia R&B: soulful, stylish, and deeply authentic.
That's the context for the night: a local R&B singer bringing his sound to a local room. The "& Friends" part of the bill suggests he'll be sharing the stage with other musicians, so it's more than just a solo set. The music sits in that classic R&B pocket—smooth vocals and storytelling—but with a modern edge that keeps it from feeling like a throwback act.
