Workshop to create wood-burned artwork with all supplies provided, led by Nicole DeLizzio.
Nicole DeLizzio is leading a pyrography workshop at the Morris Arboretum & Gardens on Saturday, October 24. Pyrography is woodburning—literally using a heated tool to burn a design into a piece of wood—and this is a hands-on session where you make your own piece rather than just watching someone else do it.
One of the best things about this one is that all the supplies are provided. You don't need to own a woodburning tool or even have a particular set of materials ready to go; you just show up and get to work. That makes it a low-stakes way to try the craft if you've never done it before, and it keeps things simple if you're coming straight from other errands on a Saturday morning. You'll spend the session working through the process of burning your design into the wood, and you'll leave with the finished piece in hand.

It's a morning workshop, running from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, so you're in and out in a few hours and still have the rest of your Saturday open. The cost is $40. If you've been wanting to try something tactile and creative without having to buy a whole kit first, this is a good place to start.
