Indie rock performance by Nick Lombardo & the Decent Ok at the MilkBoy venue in Philadelphia.
Nick Lombardo & the Decent Ok play MilkBoy on Friday, October 23, with Koser and Rasan In The Heyday opening. It's a local bill for a local band: The Decent Ok is a Philadelphia indie rock group that Lombardo started in the fall of 2019. He still fronts the band, and the original lineup—Josh Steingard on drums, Ethan Cain on bass, and James Gaffield on lead guitar—is still the one on stage.
They've put out five releases since they started, and they've kept the recording close to home. Never Been Better, Live at Light & Sound Studio, Vol. II, Still Falling Down, and their latest, Live Animal, were all tracked in local rooms like Miner Street Recordings, TedAudio, and Light & Sound Studio. That work has picked up critical acclaim and airplay on KEXP in Seattle and WXPN right here in Philadelphia.
Lombardo is a public school teacher as well as a songwriter, and that's how the band came together. The music is indie rock, and the set will draw from the catalog they've built over those five records. With Koser and Rasan In The Heyday on the bill, it's a full night of music rather than a single act.
