Hands-on nature crafts and outdoor activities for all ages at Anna C. Verna Playground, run by The Friends of FDR Park.
The Friends of FDR Park are hosting their Nature Craft and Activity Table at the Anna C. Verna Playground on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It's a hands-on setup where people of all ages can make nature crafts and take part in outdoor activities, all run by the Friends of FDR Park.
If you've never been, the Anna C. Verna Playground is inside FDR Park, which is South Philadelphia's largest park. It's one of the neighborhood's most important public institutions—a civic commons with lakes, architecture, athletic fields, and nature trails that reflect the area's racial, cultural, and economic diversity. The playground is a good spot to start your morning, and the craft table gives you a reason to hang out there for a while.
The Nature Craft and Activity Table isn't a one-off, either. It's part of a series that runs every second and fourth Saturday at the park, so if you can't make this one, there's usually another coming up soon. It's designed for all ages, so it works just as well if you're bringing kids as it does if you just want to spend a few hours outdoors with something to do with your hands.
