Singer-songwriter Lily Seabird plays Pageant with cellist Eliza Niemi to present her new album 'Lightspheres on Their Way'.
Lily Seabird plays Soloveev on Saturday, December 5, with cellist Eliza Niemi. Seabird is a singer-songwriter from Vermont who's put out three records in as many years for Lame-O RecordsโTrash Mountain, Alas, and her latest, Lightspheres on Their Way.
She describes Lightspheres on Their Way as orbiting the idea of 'lightspheres,' a catalyzing force that can be a star, the sun, a UFO, headlights, or even life itself. Her songwriting has shifted from the diaristic to a more observational, novelistic approach, and she's cited influences ranging from Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Elvis, and the Grateful Dead to Leonard Cohen and John Steinbeck. The album was recorded and co-produced with Garrett Linck over the first few days of 2026 in rural Maine, tracked in a makeshift studio with a wood stove for warmth.
She'll be joined on stage by cellist Eliza Niemi, a Toronto multi-instrumentalist and film composer whose LPs Staying Mellow Blows (2022) and Progress Bakery (2025) were both long listed for the Polaris Music Prize. The show is all ages.
