A nostalgia-themed dance party featuring a Prince tribute act, with 60s and 70s-inspired music, go-go dancers, and craft cocktails.
The Trestle Inn is hosting Let's Go Crazy, a Prince tribute dance party, on Friday, October 23. It's a themed night dedicated to Prince, and it kicks off at 6 PM.
If you haven't spent much time there, The Trestle Inn sits under the Reading Viaduct at 11th and Callowhill Streets. It leans on a 60s-and-70s-inspired mix of music, entertainment, and drink, with mod go-go dancers performing to soul, funk, and disco every Thursday through Saturday. The place is known for reintroducing the Classic Whiskey Sour to Philadelphia, and the drinks menu runs to 18 craft cocktails and more than 70 domestic and international whiskies and craft beers on tap.
Owner Ian Cross says the venue has shifted toward earlier, nostalgia-themed parties because younger generations are drinking less. He points to a 2025 University of Michigan study that found drinking among younger Americans hit historic lows in 2024, while Gen X maintained its habits. The shift puts Gen X in the spotlight as a 'forgotten generation' that bars are courting, and draws a parallel with the 'Earlybirds Club' dance party, which started in Chicago in early 2024 and has since spread to over 50 cities.
