English Conversation Group - Intermediate+

The English Conversation Group - Intermediate+ meets again at Walnut Street West Library on Thursday, October 22, from 12 PM to 1 PM. It's a drop-in session for intermediate and advanced English speakers to practice speaking in a casual learning environment, and as the name suggests, it's geared toward people who already have a handle on the basics but want to get more comfortable talking in real-time.

The group is led by Free Library volunteers and is open to adults and seniors. There's no registration required, so you can just show up and join in. The whole point is to build confidence in speaking the language while meeting other adults in a low-pressure setting, rather than sitting through a formal class. If you've been studying English for a while but rarely get the chance to actually use it in conversation, this is exactly the kind of thing that helps bridge that gap.

While the October 22 session is at Walnut Street West Library, 201 South 40th Street (40th & Walnut Streets), the group meets at different times and locations throughout the fall. There was a session on Thursday, October 8, from 12 PM to 1 PM at Walnut Street West, and another on Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Independence Library, 18 South 7th Street (7th Street between Market & Chestnut). There's also a date coming up on Friday, December 11, at 12 PM. If you can't make the Thursday slot, the Saturday sessions at Independence Library give you a weekend option instead.
