One-on-one session with a librarian to scan family photographs and documents and learn how to preserve personal archives.
Digitize Your Archives is coming to Wynnefield Library on Thursday, October 22, at 11 AM. It's a one-on-one session where a librarian works with you to scan family or community organization photographs and documents, and while you're at it, they'll share best practices for storing, sharing, and preserving personal archives. If you've got a box of old family photos or a folder of community records that you've been meaning to get onto a computer, this is exactly the kind of thing that helps you actually do it.
The library scanner handles flat items up to 11x17 inches, so it'll take care of most standard photos and documents. Since it's a one-on-one session, you're not just handing over your things and waiting—you're working through them with a librarian who can walk you through the process and answer questions as you go. That second part is where the real value is: you'll walk away not just with digital copies, but with a better sense of how to keep your archives safe for the long haul.
