Beginner-friendly tarot workshop that covers the history of tarot and teaches visual analysis of the cards to help participants form a personal relationship with them.
Demystifying Tarot Through Everyday Magic comes to the Walnut Street West Library on Monday, October 19, at 5 PM. It's a beginner-friendly tarot workshop that keeps things grounded in intuitive and embodied practices, so you don't need to be a seasoned reader to get something out of it.
Rather than jumping straight into predictions, the session approaches the cards from a historical and artistic framework. You'll go through the history of tarot and how it developed across different spiritual movements, which gives some helpful context for where the cards actually come from. From there, the focus shifts to the images themselves: you'll learn how to recognize core themes in a reading through visual analysis and close-looking strategies, so you're reading the art on the card rather than just reciting a memorized meaning. The idea is to help you form your own personal relationship with the deck.
