Six-week citywide project activating artist-run spaces, DIY venues and community initiatives across Philadelphia with exhibitions, performances, workshops and public programmes.
Collective Futures runs from October 2 to November 15, 2026, with a launch party on Thursday, October 1. It's a six-week project that activates Philadelphia's network of artist-run spaces, DIY venues, and community-based initiatives, bringing together more than 30 independent organizations across the city. You'll find it in Kensington and North Chinatown, West Philadelphia, Fishtown, and Old City—so it's spread out rather than centered in one spot.
The project works through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and public programs. At its heart is collective practice as a mode of cultural production: across different disciplines and contexts, it highlights how artists come together to build shared platforms, experiment with new forms, and sustain creative communities. It also positions independent infrastructure as a way of building spaces and conditions beyond institutional frameworks, rooted in the city's grit and creative spirit.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Philadelphia and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Because it's citywide, the experience changes depending on where you go. One night might be a performance in a DIY space in Fishtown, and the next a workshop in West Philly or an exhibition in Kensington. The launch party on October 1 kicks things off before the full program runs through November 15, giving you six weeks to move between the different sites.
