One-hour BYOB cheese-tasting class for adults 21+ where five artisanal cheeses are paired and tasted while the instructor explains cheesemaking.
Philly Cheese School is hosting Cheese Basics on Saturday, October 17, from 5 PM to 6 PM at 701 S 9th St in Philadelphia. It's a one-hour, BYOB class for adults 21 and over, led by an industry professional. The whole session is built around a single plate of five artisanal cheeses, served with crackers—gluten-free ones are available—and pairings. You taste them one by one, and as you go, the instructor walks you through each cheese's producer and style, pairing suggestions, and tasting tips, along with a full explanation of the cheesemaking process. The class leans on supporting small, artisanal makers, and the cheese plate changes for every session, so the lineup depends on what's coming in.
After the tasting, you can browse the PCS Classroom Gift Shop, which stocks PCS merchandise and a rotating selection of cheese-themed items. The class is $50 for general admission.
