A community concert featuring the Philly Pops Jazz Combo and vocalist Chelsea Reed, part of Artcinia's Music In Your Neighborhood series.
Chelsea Reed and the Philly Pops Jazz Combo play First Presbyterian Church in Germantown on Sunday, November 1, from 3 to 4 PM. It's a jazz afternoon in a neighborhood church, and it's part of Artcinia's Music In Your Neighborhood series, which brings professional musicians to local venues across the city.
There's a bit of a story behind the name on the bill. The Philly Pops started out as the Liberty Bell Pops, founded in 2023 by former musicians of the pre-2023 Philly Pops, who were gifted the name by the estate of Music Director Emeritus Peter Nero. The orchestra is led by Music Director Christopher Dragon. This particular partnership with Artcinia is made possible by a grant to the Philly Pops from the William Penn Foundation, aimed at expanding access to live music through affordable performances.
This Germantown date is one of 17 neighborhood performances in the fall 2026 season, which spans Centre City, West Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia, Germantown, and North Philadelphia. The season covers a range of styles—classical, jazz, Latin, and Chinese pop—so the jazz combo fits right into that mix. The whole program is about bringing world-class professional musicians to neighborhood venues to connect audiences and artists close to home and foster inclusive community experiences through the performing arts.
