Piano concert by Polish artist Marysia Bialas inspired by water and stars, closing the day of Hevelius activities in Oxford.
Marysia Bialas brings a piano concert to St Michael at the North Gate on Monday 26 October, from 6pm to 7pm. Bialas is a 16-year-old Polish pianist, vocalist and composer, and the evening is her own programme, which she's built around water and stars. It's an hour-long set that draws on those two images to translate the themes of the Hevelius Project 2026 into sound and imagination, and it closes out the day's Polish Hevelius activities.
That project, Hevelius Project 2026: Stars, Water & Earth, is an initiative connecting Oxford with Wrocław, the city's Polish twin. It's organised by the Oxford Polish Association in partnership with IF Oxford, the Polish Cultural Institute in London, the Bodleian Libraries, the Polish ceramic company Bolesławiec and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London. Bialas' concert is one of the events within that wider programme, and it's the one that brings the day's activities to a close.
