Free and open talk with Pratima Prasad, Marie-Bénédicte Diethelm and Chris Miller to launch their book 'Translating Claire de Duras'.
Pratima Prasad, Marie-Bénédicte Diethelm and Chris Miller are coming to the Shulman Auditorium at The Queen's College on Thursday 29 October for the launch of Translating Claire de Duras. It's a talk with the three of them, and it's being presented by The Queen's Translation Exchange, the college's translation hub.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the Shulman Auditorium sits in the Drawda Garden at The Queen's College, just off the High Street. It's an award-winning modern lecture theatre and performance space, built in 2011 and filled with natural light and the simple beauty of stone, oak and glass. The college itself is known for the magnificent baroque façade that looms over the High Street and for its strong historical connection to the north of England.
The talk runs from 5.15pm to 6.30pm, so it's an early evening one that wraps up before dinner. It's free and open to all, which makes it an easy one to drop into if you're around the city centre that afternoon. The Queen's Translation Exchange is the translation hub based at the college, and this launch is one of their events. The talk brings together Prasad, Diethelm and Miller to discuss the work behind Translating Claire de Duras.
