Beginner SlowBal workshop followed by an afternoon of social swing dancing run by Oxford Balboa, with no partner needed.
Oxford Balboa are hosting a swing dance afternoon at Old Headington Village Hall on Sunday 25 October, with a SlowBal workshop to kick things off. The whole day is built around social swing dancing, so if you've been wanting to get into it, this is a good way in.
The morning starts with the SlowBal workshop from 12:00 to 14:15. It's aimed at beginners and you don't need a partner to join in, so you can just turn up on your own. Once that's wrapped up, the social dancing takes over from 14:15 until 18:00, when the hall opens up for everyone to get on the floor. It's a long stretch of dancing, and the workshop leads straight into it, so you'll have the moves fresh in your head when the social starts.
It's worth noting that the venue also hosts a Balboa workshop followed by an afternoon of swing dancing open to all, so there's plenty of dancing on the go throughout the day. If you're just coming for the social side, you can skip the morning and join in from 14:15 onwards.
