Free storytime and craft session for children aged 5 to 9 at the children's library of Oxford Westgate, run by Oxfordshire Libraries.
Oxford Westgate Library is hosting a storytime and craft session for children on Saturday 17 October, starting at 14:30. It's run by Oxfordshire Libraries and held in the children's library, which is tucked inside the main building on Queen Street. The session is aimed at children aged 5 to 9, so it's geared towards the primary school crowd rather than the toddlers.
The afternoon is split into two parts. First, there's a storytelling session focused on the natural world, with stories that bring the outdoors inside for a bit. After the stories, the kids get to make a craft to take home, so they'll leave with something in their hand rather than just a story in their head. It's a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon if you've got little ones who enjoy listening to a tale and then getting stuck into something creative.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head over. The session takes place in the children's library, a room with a capacity of 50 people, and it works on a first-come, first-served basis. That means tickets don't guarantee you a space, so if you're keen, it's worth arriving a bit early to make sure you get a spot. Also, all children need to be accompanied by an adult, so you'll be there with them throughout. The session is free of charge, and it starts at 14:30 on Saturday 17 October at Oxford Westgate Library, Queen Street, OX1 1PE.
