Live music night with indie folk trio Preen, plus Premium Leisure and Mazawattee at The Handle Bar, organised by OMS magazine.
Preen headline The Handle Bar on Thursday 22 October, with Premium Leisure and Mazawattee sharing the bill. It's a triple bill put together by OMS magazine, and the setlists run across a fair bit of ground.
Preen are storytellers and clever lyricists whose warm, classic sound draws on The Beatles alongside modern influences like Big Thief and Aldous Harding. At the centre of it all are the three voices of Robin Finetto, David Lawton and Evie Tarr. Their set will run through their singles and an extensive unreleased catalogue, starting with 'English Sun' — one of the first songs they ever wrote together — followed by the moodier 'I Know' and 'Face Down In The Pool', a track Tarr wrote about an episode of Midsomer Murders.
They aren't the only ones with new material on the night. Mazawattee are playing with their debut album release imminent, and Premium Leisure will be playing from their new EP, Pea. Between the three of them, there's a good mix of the older songs and the stuff that's just coming out.
