Annual comedy gala hosted by Jericho Comedy with stand-up and improv, raising funds for Oxfordshire Mind.
Jericho Comedy are back at the Oxford Playhouse on Saturday 9 January for the Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala. It's their annual fundraiser for local mental health services, and it's become a bit of a fixture in the city's calendar. Jericho Comedy is Oxford's independent comedy club, and they've been raising money for Oxfordshire Mind since 2015 through their weekly sell-out shows and this gala; to date, the partnership has raised over £195,800.
The gala brings together a bill of stand-up and improv, with every ticket going to Oxfordshire Mind. Over the years, the stage has hosted some of the UK's best-known comedians: James Acaster, Rachel Parris, Nish Kumar, Rosie Jones, Jennie Eclair, Ivo Graham, Ed Gamble, Adam Kay and Dom Joly have all played here. Beyond the stand-up, the club runs creative comedy in bookshops, museums and buses, from improv shows to murder mysteries.
