Evening of Ju Jitsu (Atado), a martial art that incorporates self-defence techniques from various styles, for beginners aged 15 and up.
Oxford Ju Jitsu (Atado) is running at the South Oxford Community Centre on Monday 26 October, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It's a martial arts class that brings together self-defence techniques from several different styles, so rather than sticking to one single tradition, it pulls from a few. The focus is on practical self-defence, and the sessions are open to anyone aged 15 and over.
If you've never done martial arts before, there's no need to worry about that — beginners are welcome, and you don't need any prior experience to join in. The class runs for two hours, which gives plenty of time to work through the techniques without having to rush. It's a good way to pick up some useful self-defence skills in a group setting, and since it's open to beginners, you'll be starting from the basics.
