Chamber music concert by the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective with works by Bach, Corelli and Ligeti.
Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective are playing at the Schwarzman Centre on Tuesday 10 November, their concert Making Chamber Music Part I taking place in the Sohmen Concert Hall. It's a chamber music evening in the middle of the term, and the programme pulls from three very different eras.
They'll be performing works by Bach, Corelli and Ligeti. That's the Baroque of the 17th and 18th centuries sitting alongside Ligeti, who wrote in the 20th, so you'll hear the early stuff and the modern side of the repertoire in the same set. Bach and Corelli are the familiar names here, and Ligeti is the one that shifts the mood.
Joining them on stage are Adam Walker, Armand Djikoloum and Cristina Mateo Sรกez. The collective's name suggests they work as a group rather than a fixed ensemble, and this particular line-up brings together those four for the evening. It's a small group, so the focus stays on the individual parts and how they lock together.

The concert starts at 17:00 at the Sohmen Concert Hall, inside the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in Oxford. It's a weekday afternoon slot, so it's one you can catch before the evening properly kicks in.
