High-energy indoor cycle class with hills, sprints and resistance to improve endurance and leg strength.
Mind Over Matter Fitness Centre is running an Indoor Cycle-Fitness class this Friday 23 October, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. It's a high-energy session that works with hills, sprints and resistance to build endurance and leg strength, so it's more of a proper workout than a casual spin.
If you're not familiar with how these classes are put together, the hills and sprints are the core of it. The hills come when the resistance is cranked up, making you push harder against the pedal and putting the work into your quads and glutes. The sprints are the opposite: the resistance drops and you're asked to pick up the pace, getting the heart rate up and testing your cardiovascular fitness. Between the two, you're switching gears throughout the session, which is what keeps it from feeling like a steady-state ride.
It's a 45-minute class, so it fits into a lunch break if you're working nearby. The focus is on endurance and leg strength, and the mix of hills and sprints is designed to hit both. If you've been wanting to get into cycling or just want to push your fitness a bit further, this is a straightforward way to do it.
