Six weekly a cappella choir workshops for singers who want a singing fix without the long-term commitment of a regular choir.
Feisty Sisters Choir are running a series of six pop-up a cappella workshops at The Old Schoolhouse in Oxford, starting this Monday 19 October. It's a a cappella setup, so there are no instruments involved—just voices. The workshops are pitched at singers who want a singing fix without the long-term commitment of a regular choir, which makes it a good fit if you're not in a position to sign up for a full term or a weekly rehearsal that runs all year.
They're held at The Old Schoolhouse, a former primary school that now houses Magdalen Road Church and plays host to community groups and events around the neighbourhood. It's in The Irving Building on Hertford Street, OX4 3AJ, so it's easy enough to find if you're coming from the East Oxford side of town. The workshops run on Monday evenings from 7.00 to 8.30, and they're spread across October and November: 19 and 26 October, then 2, 9, and 16 November. That's five dates in total, though the series is billed as six, so it's worth double-checking the full schedule if you're planning to do the whole run.

Because it's a pop-up format, you don't have to commit to the whole thing. You can drop in for a single session if that's all your schedule allows, or stick with it for the full series if you fancy it. It's £11 per session, or £55 for the series—which works out to the same price per night, just paid upfront. Each one runs from 7.00 to 8.30pm, so you're in and out in ninety minutes on a Monday evening. If you've been missing singing but can't quite fit a regular choir into your week, this is a low-stakes way to get back into it.
