Free, fully accessible community light trail through Cutteslowe Park with craft stalls, music, shadow theatre and the 'And...Breathe' sound and light installation.
The Cutteslowe Light Trail returns to Cutteslowe Park on Saturday 14 November, starting from 4.00pm as dusk falls. It's a free, fully accessible community event that forms part of Oxford's Christmas Light Festival, so it's one of those things you can just turn up to without worrying about tickets or bookings.
The trail winds through the park as it gets dark, taking you past craft stalls, music, and shadow theatre performances, along with railway journeys and discos. It's a slow walk rather than a quick look, and the route is designed to be accessible for everyone. The whole thing is presented by The North Wall Arts Centre and the Cutteslowe Community Association, so it's a local collaboration between the arts centre and the community group that looks after the park.
The trail ends with And...Breathe, a sound and light installation by The North Wall. They describe it as a piece that mixes timber, science and the raw joy of play to explore breath and breathing together. It's the anchor at the end of the walk, and it's the part of the evening that carries the name of the installation.
