Annual exhibition of paintings, photography, prints and crafts by local artists and makers, with a free Kids' Make and Take area.
The Wollaton Park Rotary Club is holding its annual art exhibition at St Leonard's Community Centre on Saturday 24 October, from 10am to 4pm. The club also runs the community centre, which sits in the heart of Wollaton village.
It's a broad show: paintings, photography, prints and crafts by local artists and makers, all on display and available to buy. A percentage of the sales goes to Ducklings, the QMC Hospital School Charity, and other local causes, so if you do take something home, it's for a good cause. There's a free Kids' Make and Take area too, where children can paint and decorate an LED tea light holder alongside other craft activities, and Inner Wheel provides drinks and homemade cakes.
Wollaton itself is one of west Nottingham's oldest settlements, mentioned in the Domesday Book and centred on the deer park that gives the area its name. Its main draw is Wollaton Hall, a spectacular Elizabethan mansion set in 500 acres of parkland, now home to Nottingham's natural history museum and a popular setting for films and family days out. The village clusters around St Leonard's Church and the green, with the community centre, local shops and a steady programme of community events.
