Comedy folk band The Lancashire Hotpots play live at Saltbox Bar, the music and food venue on Bellar Gate.
The Lancashire Hotpots are playing Saltbox Bar on Saturday 24 October. They're a comedy folk band from St Helens, and the whole thing is built around songs about Lancashire and British culture, with a good deal of the humour coming from the everyday, relatable things they sing about. It's the kind of set that works by getting the room on its side with things people actually recognise.
Saltbox is a 500-capacity live music venue, bar and kitchen in the heart of Nottingham, and it does more than just gigs. They run everything from live music and sports to workshops and movie nights, so it's a bit of a multi-purpose spot. On the food side, they serve fried chicken from one of the city's best spots, alongside Mollis cocktails, which means you can eat and drink there before the music starts.
