Annual conference of the Society of Licensed Conveyancers with industry sessions and a post-conference dinner for conveyancers and property lawyers.
The Society of Licensed Conveyancers are bringing their annual conference to the East Midlands Conference Centre on Monday 9 November, from 10:00 to 16:30. It's a day built for conveyancers, property lawyers and legal executives, and the conference has grown year on year to the point where the SLC has moved it to this purpose-built venue on Beeston Lane in Nottingham, designed to hold more delegates while keeping the focus on learning, networking and professional development. It's become the go-to event for the sector, centred on practical guidance, industry updates and discussion, with the smaller breakout sessions remaining one of its most popular features.
The programme brings together a few different angles on the job. Linda Wright covers planning matters affecting conveyancing transactions, and Nick Hawkins speaks on the CLC Adjudication Panel. Hannah Knowles, from Art of Brilliance, takes a different turn, focusing on mental health, wellbeing and resilience. There's also a session on the use of AI in conveyancing firms, so the day moves from the technical and regulatory side of things over to the human and technological shifts affecting the work.
When the conference wraps up, the day continues with an informal post-conference dinner in the same building. That part is less about the sessions and more about the social side: a drinks reception, entertainment, networking and a welcome presentation for newly qualified Licensed Conveyancers. It's the same venue for both, so you don't have to move across town to stay on for the evening.
