Stand-up show 'Swanky' by Sindhu Vee, the award-winning comedian from 'Live at the Apollo' and 'Sex Education', at Nottingham Playhouse.
Sindhu Vee brings her new stand-up show Swanky to Nottingham Playhouse on Friday 20 November, her first UK tour in five years. It's a brand-new hour from the award-winning Live at the Apollo star, and the title isn't just for show — she describes it as her most sophisticated, intimate and swanky set yet.
The whole thing kicks off from a single, stupid question someone once asked her, and from there it opens up into the cracks you didn't make, the friendships you're better off avoiding and the self-love you definitely need. It's the kind of material that starts with a small, specific thing and ends up somewhere much wider.
If you've only caught her on the telly, there's plenty to go on. Since her 2021 show Alphabet — which earned an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination and is still streaming on her website — she's become a regular on QI, Have I Got News For You and Would I Lie To You?. She's also popped up in Netflix's Sex Education and Matilda the Musical, and in Amazon Prime's Pradeeps of Pittsburgh and Picture This. Critics have called her style outspoken, frank and funny, and that's exactly what she brings to the stage.
