Sex Pistols Exposé + Total Clash

Sex Pistols Exposé and Total Clash are playing Saltbox on Saturday 6 February, bringing together two of British punk's most recognisable sounds on one bill. It's a double-header put on by the organiser RELIVE IT, and the two acts cover the opposite ends of the 1977 scene.

Sex Pistols Exposé take on the Sex Pistols side of things, and they describe their set as delivering the chaos, energy and unmistakable sound of the original band. Total Clash handle the other half, celebrating the music of The Clash. Between them, they run through the songs that defined the era, with the Pistols' raw, confrontational edge on one side and The Clash's broader, more expansive approach on the other.

RELIVE IT has listed a few of the songs they'll be working through, and they're the ones you'll know. From the Pistols, you'll hear 'Anarchy in the UK', 'Pretty Vacant' and 'God Save the Queen'. From The Clash, 'London Calling', 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' and 'Rock the Casbah' are on the setlist. It's a fair bit of ground to cover in one night, with the two bands alternating the stage to keep the energy up.

The gig is at Saltbox - Live Music, Bar & Kitchen, over in Bolero Square (NG1 1LY), and it runs from 19:00 to 23:00. Tickets are £15.
