Stand-up show by Sam Campbell, who makes live comedy an alternative to scrolling on a phone screen, at the Theatre Royal Nottingham.
Sam Campbell is playing the Theatre Royal in Nottingham on Monday 9 November, with the show running in the Main Auditorium. He's a stand-up comedian, and the whole night is just him on stage.
There's a specific thread running through the act: Campbell positions live comedy as an alternative to spending your time staring at a phone screen. It's a bit of a manifesto for the whole thing, and he leans into the performative side of it, too. He's joked about keeping all the keys to the cities handed to him by the mayors he manages to impress with his showmanship, and he's made a point of mentioning that he's been on television more than five times.
It's a long set, so it's worth knowing what you're getting into. The show runs for two hours and ten minutes, and that includes an interval, so you'll have a break to stretch your legs and get a drink halfway through. There's also age guidance to keep in mind: it's 16+.
