Stand-up show by Phil Wang, the Radio 4 and TV comedy regular, at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham.
Phil Wang is playing the Theatre Royal on Sunday 23 May 2027, in the Main Auditorium. It's a stand-up show, and it's the same one he performed on 3 October 2026, so it's not a new tour.
If you've come across him on the telly but haven't seen him live, there's a fair bit to go on. He's a Eurasian stand-up who built his following on the airwaves, appearing on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You?, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Drunk History. He was also the regular Asian Correspondent on Dave's Unspun. Beyond the panel shows, he wrote and starred in two series for BBC Radio 4 with his sketch group Daphne, who were nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Best Newcomer Award in 2015. That followed his 2010 Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year and 2011 Comedy Central Live Funniest Student awards. He's also known for a series of Taskmaster, an episode of Would I Lie to You and one minute of Wonka.
Critics have described him as 'one of the stand up greats of his generation' (The Guardian), 'a comic who just gets better and better' (Time Out) and a 'master of the intellectual dick joke'.
