Improvisation comedy show by Paul Merton and Suki Webster, with Mike McShane and special guests, with no script and scenes built from audience suggestions.
Paul Merton and Suki Webster bring their improv show to Nottingham Playhouse on Friday 23 October, with the curtain going up at 7.30pm. They're joined on stage by Mike McShane and a few special guests, so it's a full house of improvisers rather than just the two of them.
If you've never seen them work, the whole thing is built on the fly. There's no script and nothing rehearsed; every sketch and scene comes from suggestions they take from the audience, so the room actually helps shape what happens on stage. It's fast, fearless and gloriously unpredictable, and because it's all made in the moment, no two nights ever end up the same. The Mirror has called them 'the finest exponents of the improv art' and Three Weeks named them 'the best in the business'.
They've spent years honing the act at London's Comedy Store and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the reviews have followed suit. Critics have described it as 'improv comedy at its strongest', full of 'class, nonsense, inventiveness and a whole barrel load of laughs'. The Nottingham date is already sold out, so you'll want to keep an eye on returns if you're still looking for a ticket.
