Free open discussion workshop for theatre directors in the region, using Open Space Technology to set and run the agenda.
Nottingham Playhouse is hosting an Open Space Directors Workshop on Wednesday 28 October, a full-day session for theatre directors across the region. It's open to directors at all stages of their careers, so it doesn't matter if you're just starting out or have been working for years.
The day is built around Open Space Technology, which is a bit different from your usual workshop. Instead of a set programme, the participants set and run the agenda themselves. You bring the issues you want to talk about, and the group decides what to focus on. The hosts provide the space and the facilitation, but the conversation comes from the people in the room. It's an open discussion workshop for exploring important issues and developing practical actions, so it's as much about getting things sorted as it is about talking them through.
Running the day are Beccy D'Souza, Artist Development Producer, and Andy Routledge, Amplify Associate. They'll be there to keep things moving and hold the space, but the direction of the day is up to everyone who turns up. Because the agenda is built on the fly, the topics will depend entirely on who's in the room and what's on their mind.
