One-day Super League tournament gathering all eight clubs under one roof at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, opening the 2027 Netball Super League season.
The Netball Super Cup comes to the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday 27 February 2027, and it's a bit of a one-off: all eight Super League clubs under one roof for a single day of netball. It's the first time the tournament has been held in Nottingham, and it also kicks off the 2027 Netball Super League season, with the regular rounds following from Friday 5 March.
The Super Cup has been around since 2025, and the format is pretty straightforward: all the top clubs gather in one place before the league proper gets going. It's a one-day tournament, so you get to see the whole league in a single afternoon rather than following them across the country over several months. For the 2027 season, the league is bringing back double-header matches — four across the campaign — a format introduced in 2026 that's been credited with driving a lot of the audience growth the league has seen lately.
There's also the NXT Gen League to keep in mind, which develops the next generation of Super League players. That gets going on Saturday 13 February and continues to act as a curtain-raiser to the league games, so the youth side of things is already in full swing by the time the Super Cup arrives. Competitions Director Ian Holloway describes the 2027 fixtures as the third season of the league's new era, following the bold changes made since the 2025 relaunch. Visit Nottinghamshire chief Megan Powell Vreeswijk welcomed the tournament to the city, noting the value it brings to the visitor economy.
