Paranormal event and ghost hunt led by Shadows Paranormal Ltd at the historic and notoriously spooky National Justice Museum.
Shadows Paranormal Ltd are running a paranormal event and ghost hunt at the National Justice Museum on Saturday 5 June 2027. It's a late one, running from 9 pm to 2 am, with doors opening at 8:45 pm, and it's for 16s and over.
If you've spent any time in the city, you'll know the National Justice Museum is one of Nottingham's most atmospheric landmarks, and it's got a reputation for being spooky that's rooted in centuries of documented suffering. Its use as a law court goes back to 1375, and its role as a prison is recorded by 1449, with countless people tried, imprisoned and executed on the premises. Public hangings took place there until the mid-19th century, and after 1832 executions moved to a scaffold erected over the stone steps of the Shire Hall.
Much of that history is still visible. Georgian and Victorian cells, a preserved gallows and the gallows yard remain, alongside the memory of a 1724 courtroom collapse that sent a crowd crashing into the cellar below. Later Victorian expansions left a chillingly intact network of cells, courtrooms and execution areas, so you're not just imagining the weight of the placeβit's built right into the walls. That's the kind of setting Shadows Paranormal Ltd will be working with for the night.
