Public talk by historian Lucy Worsley about the history of British royal residences, with a second date added due to high demand.
Lucy Worsley is coming to the Theatre Royal in Nottingham on Sunday 5 September 2027 for My Royal Life: An Audience with Lucy Worsley, a talk that takes you behind the scenes of the royal residences she knows inside out.
Worsley is a historian and bestselling author who spent twenty years as Chief Curator in some of Britain's most famous palaces. In this talk, she opens up about that time, taking the audience into the history of the royal homes she worked in—from the Haunted Gallery at Hampton Court to the gilded apartments of Kensington Palace. Along the way, she shares what she really thinks of some of Britain's best-known queens and kings, delivered with the warmth and scholarly sparkle she's known for.
It's a chance to hear about the royal family from someone who's spent two decades working within their walls, rather than just writing about them from the outside. The talk is built around her book Queens & Kings, and every ticket includes a copy of it, so you'll have the book in hand as you listen. The demand for the show has been high enough that a second date was added, which should give you a bit more breathing room if the first one fills up fast.
